Artist Statement
My work is an inquiry into the space of human vulnerability. I am curious by the soft, often blurred boundaries of the psyche—the quiet, visceral tension that exists when we choose to either reveal or shield our true selves.
Subjects often begin as ordinary figures or moments that become sites of psychological exploration. I am interested in the point where a painting draws a viewer in visually, encouraging them to stay with it and question what lies beneath the surface.
By working in oil, I seek a balance between technical precision and atmospheric abstraction. I use the dialogue of light and shadow not to just create form, but to deconstruct the masks we navigate the world with, introducing the true reality beneath. For me, the canvas is a site of transition; it is where the universal anxieties of being seen meet the quiet strength found in tenderness. Ultimately, I want the work to feel intimate and unresolved, inviting viewers to enter through mood rather than explanation.
